I grew up in a religious home; went to Church on Sundays and attended private Christian schools, K-12. After that I spent 18 years being very non-religious. Finally, God revealed Himself to my heart (through the prayers of friends and family, and His Holy Word; the book of Romans, in particular). I understand that while I'm a sinner, who can never be perfect (and perfection is God's standard), Jesus met that standard for me (in His life, death and ressurection). All I need do is to turn away from my sins and accept Him as Lord in my life, for His perfection to be counted to my credit.

You are pondering your new job. You characterize it as new opportunities springing up in the midst of the mundane and familiar. In your previous job, you had a good friend that you are afraid will become distant, now that you don't see each other every day.
