Pizza Quest
The other guys I'm working with are staying in a different hotel. We decide to meet for supper at the California Pizza Kitchen (4) (5)...
After being given some directions of dubious merit ;-) by my co-workers, I cunningly decide to query the concierge at my hotel (1). She gives me the map, above. By her directions (red arrows) it is about a four block walk. I arrive at the location circled (2) to discover it is a rather large office building, with no shops. Believing the restaurant to be some where nearby, I wandered (blue arrows) to the Westin Bonaventure Hotel (3) where the helpful doorman gave me the directions (green arrows) to the California Pizza Kitchen (4). Whereupon I discovered that my party wasn't there. A discrete query concerning three ugly guys with southern accents produced no result other than a smile from the hostess. ;->
A quick consultation with the hostess at the California Pizza Kitchen (4) on Figueroa Street revealed that there was a California Pizza Kitchen (5) on Grand Street. I made a brief phone call to my waiting co-workers explaining that there were two CPKs in the area, and that I was at the one which was about eight blocks away from where they were sitting. They had already ordered, so I decided to eat where I was and catch up with the guys later.
As for the resturant, they had Sierra Nevada Lager on tap, it's clean and crisp, overall a very good beer. And I tried the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza. The pizza comes with something like a Caesar salad on top. It too, was excellent. The prices were in-line with less exotic pizza places back home. I recommend the CPK on Figueroa Street.
