Beyond the Gates of Splendor

In 1956, a team of missionaries---including Jim and Elisabeth Elliot---traveled to Ecuador. This feature-length documentary tells their startling true-life story of sacrifice, ministry, love, forgiveness, and changed lives. The powerful journey begins with interviews of the Waodani people discussing their way of life before hearing the gospel message. (Rated PG-13; contains some violence and native nudity.) 96 minutes.
I have seen this documentary. It's the story of the true courage of those who love Christ more than their own lives, Christ's love as exhibited by the wives of five slain missionaries, and the changes brought about in the lives of a people who are born again because of Christ's work. I highly recommend the documentary, and am looking forward to End of the Spear the theatrical version of this story, told from the point of view of the natives.

Hi Bryan, thank you for your post. Very encouraging. Since I'm German I wanted to read the German automatic "translation"-- a nightmare. No word and no expression is correct. The whole post turns into some ridicule nonsense. I honestly want to give you the advice to turn this translation machine off-- your posts don't deserve that nonsense..
Yours Ben
(If you don't believe it, translate the German translation via that machine back into English and let me know about your impression..)

Thanks, I'll disable that now. Perhaps someday machine translation will be helpful, but not today.

Actually, someday, we won't need any translation at all, praise God!
