Opportunities missed

When I was working my last event (the Chitimacha Louisiana Open) I failed to take advantage of the opportunity to witness to a group of people. As I was standing there one lady mentioned that her Baptist brother-in-law told her she was going to hell because she was a Catholic.

The words came to me, but I didn't speak them. (God have mercy on me!) What I needed to tell her was that she was not going to hell because she was Catholic, and neither was her brother-in-law going to heaven because he was Baptist. The only way to heaven is through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in your life. (Acts 4:12)

Neither belonging to any particular denomination, being baptized, nor partaking of communion is necessary for salvation. Salvation is the sovereign act of God in the heart of those who willingly come to Him.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Romans 10:9-13)
