Overhaul

I haven't posted lately as I've been at home. Or more correctly working at the shop from 8 to 5. This is the time of year when everything gets refurbished for the coming season. Our company meeting is tomorrow. This means I get to see the guys I worked with out on the road, as well as meet the guys I haven't yet worked with. It's a pretty nice place to work. :-)

Coleslaw

Here at the Tampa International Airport, if one were to choose to eat at "Frankly Gourmet" one could have coleslaw on ones hot dog. Further proof for doubting (non-southern) friends that coleslaw, like ketchup, is indeed both a condiment *and* a vegetable! ;-)

The Greg Rollie band is currently on stage playing some old Santana favorites. Great stuff!

A Starship is sighted in St. Petersburg, Florida

Starship played quite a few old Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship favorites... too bad they're politics remain stuck in the same century. The old music is much more palatable than the politics. It would have been a more enjoyable show without the silly political one-liners. Sigh, would that all of these leftist whiners would take Laura Ingram's advice and just "shut-up and sing."

Along the same vane, you just can't get good pork barbecue outside of North Carolina.

Note the heavy sauce, while it is excellent for beef brisket and beef ribs, it has no business on pork. Ah well, at least the ribs are pretty good. :-)

Lunch at the NEX RibFest

BBQ'd ribs, baked beans, cole slaw, and potato salad... ah, the sacrifices that I have to make for this company. ;-)

And for dessert...

A new album has been opened on my Yahoo Photos page. The NEX RibFest 2004 contains a few photos from sunny St. Petersburg Florida. (Well, it's actually raining right now, but its supposed to clear off in a few hours.)

Another delay. It seems that air conditioners are more critical than power units. And, now we need fuel. :-)

So far so good. I made it to Cinci with time to spare. I guess that planes really don't need their APU's. :-)

My plane needs a jump

My plane needs a jump start! the plane I'm taking to Cinci has lost its auxillary power unit. It's not critical.

Wi-Fi at PTI

I'm here at gate 48 (the power outlet is here, my plane is at gate 47), and it appears that PTI has gone with tmobile for their Wi-Fi provider. I'll have to consider whether it is worth it to sign up. They have several options, including a single day access for $10. It's 32 degrees outside, here at PTI. Its a good day to fly to Florida. :-)

This 14.4kbps connection via my cell phone is killing me! ;-)
